Wyatt Franklin Booher, 69, passed peacefully on Thursday, August 6, 2026 after a courageous battle with cancer for 18 years.
Wyatt grew up on the Navajo Reservation near Gallup, New Mexico and became fluent in the Navajo language. Following high school he worked in the uranium mines, after which he attended the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque and received his bachelor’s degree in Biology. Later, he acquired his master’s degree in Chemical Engineering. He was employed by Sandia Labs, ITT, Intel and 3D Glass over the course of his career. Wyatt was also a contractor who designed, built, and remodeled homes for the companies he founded, Integrated Design and Construction and Wyatt Homes.
Wyatt was a wonderful son, brother, father, grandfather, and friend to many. He had a passion for pursuing his many interests, and zest for learning and living. Wyatt was never idle and lived life to the fullest. He became a master at woodworking, hunting, racing dirt bikes, and cooking. Wyatt loved to travel, traveling around New Mexico, the United States, and Europe. He loved music, often attending concerts and shows, and collecting fine pieces of Native American artwork.
He was preceded in his death by his parents, H. Franklin Booher and Nancy Weis Booher and by his brothers, Andrew and Norman. Wyatt is survived by his children, Alisha Roush, Ryan Booher and his wife Bailey and Jason Booher and wife Rebecca; three grandchildren; his five sisters; four brothers; partner, Mardy Heiner; many nieces and nephews; as well as other family members and friends who loved and will miss him greatly.
Services are scheduled for Thursday, August 20, 2026 at Alameda Bible Church, 220 El Pueblo Road NW, Los Rancho de Albuquerque. The visitation will begin at 9:30 am. The Funeral Service will begin at 10:30 am with a short luncheon to follow the service. The burial and interment service will then take place at 1:30 pm at Vista Verde Memorial Park, 4310 Sara Road SE, Rio Rancho. Pallbearers will be Ryan Booher, Jason Booher, Andy Booher, Will Gilpin, Gregg Shutiva and Tyler Albright.
