Walter M. Gutierrez was born April 26, 1931 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He passed away on Friday, December 18, 2020 at Presbyterian Rust Medical Center.

He will be remembered as a beloved husband and father to five children.

Walter Honorably served his Country as a Paratrooper in the US Army. He was a people person who enjoyed working way after retirement. Walter was an excellent cook and taught all of his children how to cook Mexican food. He was known at work for his kindness, sense of humor and his delicious burritos and was a very sweet and understanding father and helped raise all of his children from infancy throughout their lives. As well, Walter was very generous and would give his children his last dollar if they asked for it. He will deeply be missed and will always be in our hearts!!
Walter was preceded in death by his daughter, Teresa Baca and by his son, Michael Gutierrez.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Gutierrez; daughters, Catherine Gutierrez, Cindy Frank and Gina Gutierrez; grandchildren, Jennifer Baca, Andrea Gonzalez, Antonio Gutierrez, Joshua Fulton, Julianna Fulton, Jacob Gutierrez, Angela Gutierrez and many great grandchildren; as well as other family  members and friends who loved and will miss him.

Services will be held at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 1502 Sara Rd. Rio Rancho, NM., on Saturday, January 2, 2021 at 10:30 am. Refreshments will be served following the services at the Gutierrez Family Home.
