Obituary

Wallace Harold Franklin, our wonderful and beloved brother, husband, father, papa, and friend walked through heaven's gates in the early morning of July 3, 2021.  He rejoices in heaven with his parents, Rev. Wallace Manning Franklin, D. Min. and Norma Lee Franklin. He is survived by his wife, Brenda L. Franklin; daughters and their spouses, Melissa and Tom Padilla and Christina and Stevo Jeter; six grandsons and one granddaughter-in-law, Chorus and Gabrielle Padilla, Lyric Taylor and Tommy Padilla and Jack, Luke and Brody Jeter; his brother and his spouse, Stan and Annette Franklin; and his niece and her spouse, Sheri and Andy Glanz and their children Davin Glanz, Katrina Knisley and Billy and his wife MaKenzie Knisley, and nephew, Mark Franklin.

Harold was born in Santa Monica, California, and spent most of his life in Albuquerque, New Mexico, graduating from Del Norte High School in 1966. He served in the Navy for four years.  Two of those years, Harold served on the USS Independence. His heart, however, would always be in Clayton, New Mexico, where he resided for eight years. He managed Public Service Company of New Mexico's Clayton branch and enjoyed his time herding cattle and joining just about every board, club, or contest you can imagine.  After 25 years of service at PNM, Harold worked for Bank of America for eight years. He then spent his retirement years helping out at Western Heights Learning Center and Church.

Harold never met a stranger and left a legacy of kindness and love everywhere he went. He loved to sing, play guitar and play laser tag with his grandson. His family meant the world to him, and he loved them well.  Although we will miss him greatly, we have comfort in knowing that he is rejoicing in heaven.  The celebration service will be held at a later date to be announced.
