Vidal Michel Espinoza was born to Rosa Michel and Dionisio Espinoza on April 28, 1933 in El Palmar de Los Cumbetos Jalisco, Mexico. Shortly there after his family moved to El Palmar de San Antonio (Formerly known as Palmar de Los Pelayos) Jalisco, Mexico where he worked the fields of many farms, construction, and as a cannery worker.

In the 1950's he eventually settled in San Jose, California where he became the owner of V.M. Espinoza Gardening Service for over 49 years and at night worked for Round Table Pizza. Vidal was also an activist in his community, as a proud member of the Community Service Organization (CSO); one of the oldest and most enduring Mexican American Civil Rights Organization in America.

In 2006 Vidal moved his family to Albuquerque, New Mexico to enjoy his retirement years where he became a member and fourth degree of the Knights of Columbus.  He will be remembered as a wonderful Mariachi singer, mambo dancer and for being the life of the party.  His health declined over recent years the warrior in him fought a tough fight until his passing in his home among his family on Saturday, March 9, 2024. He leaves behind his loving wife of 51 years, Elena Espinoza Pacheco; daughters, Elsa Espinoza Pacheco, Margaret (Memo) Barajas and Mariaelena (Gilbert) Gonzales; grandchildren, Jeramie (Tram) Renteria, Panel Gonzales, Marisa Gonzales and numerous nephews and nieces, god children and his dear friends, Isabelle Martinez and David Martinez whom he considered family.

Services will be held at Holy Ghost Parish, 833 Arizona Street SE. Albuquerque, New Mexico 87108, on Saturday May 11, 2024. The Rosary will be recited at 12:00 noon followed by the celebration of the Mass of Christian Burial. A reception will then take place at 3:30 pm at the Espinoza Residence.
