The
Story of Thomas Joshua Taylor
Every hero has an origin story. Thomas Joshua Taylor's began on May 19, 1991. From the start, he carried the spark of creativity, courage, and joy that would become his superpowers.
On September 30, 2025, Thomas turned the page to his next great adventure, going home to be with the Lord and reunited with his beloved Nana.
Thomas's team will forever honor his story: his father, David Taylor, and wife, Janice; his mother, Arleen Tavulares, and husband, Steve; and his birth mother, Denielle R. Diaz. He leaves behind his greatest treasures, his girlfriend, Sam Sarracino, and daughter, Avaya. Also carrying his legacy are his siblings—Anthony Taylon, Janel Sanchez, Kimberly Jo, Chelsey Rene, Misty Rose, and Chanell Rae; his grandfather, Donald Taylor; grandmothers, Helen Graves and Vicenta Dominguez; grandparents, Tim and June Humphrey; and countless aunties, uncles, cousins, and friends who shared in his adventures.
Thomas's powers were many—he was an illustrator, a graphic artist, and an avid comic book collector. But his greatest gift was the joy he brought to others. Like a true hero, he knew how to lift the weight of the world from those around him—sometimes by clowning around, sometimes by breaking into dance in the middle of the day, just to keep spirits high. His laughter and lightness reminded us all that even in life's toughest battles, joy could still win.
Though this chapter closes after 34 years, Thomas's story lives on in every sketch, every memory, every smile he inspired.
I know, son, that if you could choose, you'd have us dancing—turning grief into laughter, and sorrow into rhythm—no matter what fate has written. You will never be forgotten and will always live in our hearts.
And as every comic teaches us: true heroes never really leave. They live on in the stories we tell, and Thomas will forever be the bright, dancing spirit in the pages of our hearts.
