Theresa Tarin Mock, age 95, passed away April 5th,2026, Easter Sunday in Albuquerque, New Mexico, surrounded by loved ones. Theresa was born on October 11th, 1930 to Francisco Tarin and Feliz Benevidez Tarin in Casa Colorada, New Mexico.
Theresa was preceded in death by her parents, Francisco and Feliz Tarin; husband, James L. Mock; sister, Aurelia Gallegos; brother in-law, Andres Gallegos; brother, Prudencio Romero; grandson, Jason Kirtley; granddaughter, Diana Kirtley and the father of her children Marion (Buddy) Kirtley.
Theresa is survived by her brother, Joe Isaac Tarin and wife Priscilla Tarin; her 4 children, Martin Kirtley, Patricia Reagan (Joseph), Gary Kirtley (Marie) and Kenneth Kirtley; grandchildren, Gary Wayne Kirtley, Karen Schultz, Stephen Kirtley, John Kirtley, Michael Kirtley, Jesse Jaramillo, David Jaramillo, Holly Trujillo, Jaqueline Gabbert, Kathryn Kirtley, Anthony Kirtley, Monique Romero, Erica Kirtley, Christina Kirtley, John Kirtley and Elena Kirtley; as well as numerous great grandchildren and nephews and nieces whom she dearly loved.
Theresa worked for Belen Schools as a receptionist, Sears Catalog in Belen and the Los Lunas Hospital and Training school. She loved to laugh and spend time with her brother Joe and sister-in-law Priscilla as well as best friends, Sylvia Chavez and her cousin, Eloisa Montoya.
Special thanks to High Desert Hospice who enabled her to be cared for at her daughter's home during her final days. Many thanks to Terry, Olivia and Michelle. Also, thanks to her granddaughter Holly Trujillo who was always available to help with mom's care at a moment's notice anytime day or night.
Services with be held at the Santa Fe National Cemetery where she will be laid to rest next to her husband James Mock with a graveside service on Monday, April 20, 2026 at 1:30 pm.
