Susan G. Armstrong, also known as Susan Elaine Gibbs was born in Corpus Christi, Texas, on February 19, 1967. She was born premature and drug-addicted and stayed in the hospital for several months before being adopted by a wonderful family called the Gibbs. Her family consisted of her mother Roberta J. Gibbs, her father Glendon B. Gibbs, her brother Stephen Gibbs, her aunt Katy, and her grandfather. She lived and grew up in beautiful San Antonio Texas with her family. She would spend hours reading wonderful stories, running and exploring the local land with her two dogs/ best friends, and playing card games with her grandfather. She was an extremely bright girl who was an exceptional student and a talented musician. Susan was a beautiful flutist who played her way into college and even traveled around the world to play in Japan with the Symphony. She had beautiful red-orange hair, hazel green eyes, and a wonderfully loud laugh.

She endured hardship and trauma as an adult and supported herself as a sex worker for a time. There were many times in which she should have died but she did not. She was a survivor and a warrior who never stopped fighting. She later settled down in Albuquerque NM, married Robert Armstrong, and had a child, Amanda K. Armstrong. She worked at a solar company selling solar panels and was part of a weekly bowling league where she bowled with her husband and daughter. Susan struggled with addiction and mental illness all of her life, and for a long time she was okay, but there came a day when things became unmanageable. Robert and her divorced during this time and her relationships with her friends and family including her daughter suffered. Susan could never fully overcome her mental health issues and addiction because of the pain and trauma she experienced all of her life, but she never stopped trying. As she grew older she mended her relationship with her daughter and would put herself out there to make new friends and connections. She rejoined a bowling league and spent the majority of her time in the outdoors. She loved hiking with her dog Gracie, fishing down at Tingley Beach, and birdwatching in her backyard. She enjoyed sci-fi movies and comedies, and upbeat music like Katy Perry. She has so much love to give and was very kind. She was beautiful, goofy, funny, and most of all strong. She fought long and hard to stay alive, right until the very end.

She ended her life and her suffering on October 18th, 2021. On October 24th, 2021 Susan was cremated and her only family, her daughter Amanda, plans to spread her ashes out in nature at a later date.
