Socorro Galindo

1947 - 2025

Socorro Galindo, age 78,our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend entered the gates of heaven peacefully surrounded by her loved ones on Monday, October 13, 2025.

A resident of Albuquerque, New Mexico since 1977, she was born in Torreón Coahuila, México. Socorro was preceded in death by her husband, Jesus Galindo; her parents, Buenaventura and Josefina Valenzuela; and a brother. She is survived by her three daughters, Maria Carrillo, Lupe Hernandez and Blanca Mendoza and respective spouses; seven brothers, one sister, seven grandchildren, Jesus Carrillo, Juan Carrillo, Andres Carrillo, Mayra Carrillo, Ivan Hernandez, Alan Hernandez, Vanessa Portillo, and one great-grandchild, Christian Carrillo, all who brought her immense joy and numerous nephews and nieces.

Socorro's unwavering love for our Lord and Savior was so fervent, she devoted her time to daily prayer with her prayer warriors and weekly visits to the Blessed Sacrament.  She was an avid shopper who never turned down an opportunity to go shopping and eating out, no matter what day of the week it was.  We are greatly going to miss her delicious cooking especially her famous rice.

Socorro is admired for her enduring strength, resilience and the deep unconditional love she had for her family.  She will always be our "Mamá Coco".

You were the matriarch of our family, the light in our lives and your love will remain with us forever.

Services will be held at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, 1860 Griegos Rd NW, Albuquerque, NM 87107, on Wednesday, October 22, 2025 with a viewing beginning at 10:00 am. The Rosary will be recited at 10:30 am and the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am.  The Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE. A celebration of life will proceed the interment at the Catholic Charismatic Center 1412 5th St. NW, Albuquerque, NM 87102.
