Silverio C. Sanchez, of Albuquerque New Mexico, born on May 22, 1929, went home to be with the Lord Saturday, November 18th, 2023, after succumbing to natural causes.  He was surrounded by his family and loving friends.

Silverio grew up in the Los Padillas community. He is preceded by his wife Jennie C. Sanchez; as well as his parents, Albert and Annie Sanchez, and his sister, Helen Chavez.  He is survived by his two daughters, Janet Richesin and and Judy Martinez ; four grandchildren, Shannon Richesin, Shawn Richesin, Julia Pluemer and Jessica Maloy.  In addition, Silverio's legacy includes 12 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; as well as his sister, Lucy Encee, and brothers, Demsie Sanchez and Albert Sanchez Jr. In addition to other family members and friends who loved and will miss him greatly.

Throughout his life, Silverio had several accomplishments. As a young man, he honorably served his country in the United States Army from 3/19/1951 to 3/20/1953. Silverio continued his commitment to service as a first responder when he joined the Albuquerque Fire Department from 5/19/1951 to 1/01/1984, totaling 30 years of service. Other accomplishments include his co-ownership of S&M Construction Co., which he and his friend, Dorance Myrick, created and owned.  Silverio was also an accomplished cattle rancher.

Services will be held on Thursday, December 7th, 2023 at Queen of Heaven Catholic Church located at 5311 Phoenix Ave. NE, Albuquerque, NM 87110. The Rosary will be recited at 9:30 am followed by the Mass of Christian Burial.  The interment will then take place at Mount Calvery Cemetery, located at 1900 Edith Blvd NE Albuquerque, NM 87102 at 1:00 pm. A Celebration of Life will follow the burial at The Moose Lodge located at 2121 Edith Blvd. NE Albuquerque, NM 87102.
