Obituary

Sally Lynn Smith was born June 1, 1962 in Ogden, Utah. She passed away at home, peacefully, surrounded by her treasured loved ones on Friday, June 23, 2023 after being diagnosed with breast cancer in October 2020.

Sally will be fondly remembered for her outgoing personality, for being a fantastic listener and an amazing confidant with a gentle heart. She thoroughly enjoyed celebrating the holidays, was an outstanding cook and a prayer warrior like no other, as she was always talking to Jesus! Also, she loved lavender, more lavender and more lavender; growing different varieties and cooking with it too. Most of all it was her favorite color!

Her father was in the Air Force, she moved a lot as a child and had the opportunity to travel to many beautiful places. After her father's Honorable Discharge from the USAF, the family moved to and finally settled in Clovis, New Mexico. Clovis is where she would meet her beloved husband of 39 years while working as a hair stylist. Together, they moved to Yuma, AZ in September of 1984 and then to Rio Rancho in June of 2000, where they raised their 2 children, which she was so proud of. As well Sally was the proud Nana of 3 grand-boys!! None of them live by her, however she was always planning a way to see them!
Sally rejoiced in the fact she had a wonderful support group of family and friends who have helped her over this past year! God knows I needed them!!

Sally was preceded in death by her father, Sanford Wagner and by her mother, Nancy Wagner.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 39 years, Stacey Smith of the family home in Rio Rancho; two sons, Seth Smith and wife Dara who are currently Stationed with the United States Marine Corps, Shane Smith and Amber of Albuquerque; brother, Sandy Wagner of Clovis; sister, Missy Wilson and husband Bob Wilson of Clovis; grandsons, Castiel, Kaiden and Silace; as well as other family members and beloved friends who loved and will miss her greatly.
