In Loving Memory of
Richard Wayne Kishbaugh
May 12, 1943 – October 4, 2026
Richard Wayne Kishbaugh, known to family and friends as Wayne, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, October 4, 2026, at the age of 83. Wayne lived with Parkinson’s Disease for well over a decade, and all who knew him know that he fought valiantly against the many problems it presented along the way. He was born on May 12, 1943 to Richard and Minnie Kishbaugh, in Berwick, Pennsylvania.
Wayne spent his early years in Berwick until his family moved to Los Alamos and then Albuquerque, where he participated in the Boy Scouts and then in restoring two 1940 Ford Coupes. With the outbreak of the Vietnam Conflict, Wayne chose to join the Naval Reserves. He served two tours aboard the aircraft carrier USS Ranger. When he was discharged from the Navy, he settled in San Diego, where he worked in the aerospace industry. It was in San Diego that he met and married Robin Ramser Goss. They had two children and later moved back to Albuquerque, to be closer to his parents.
Wayne continued his career by working as a general machinist at CEMCO, Inc. until his retirement in 2016. He also owned and operated his own machine shop, Precision Machine and Tube, where he was known for fabricating custom car parts that could not be found anywhere else in the world.
He loved his family, and shared with them the outdoors, adventure, and car restoration. He was happiest while working in his machine shop, where he spent countless hours working alongside his son Doug and his father. Wayne was known for his work ethic, his love of animals, sneaky sense of humor and calming presence.
Wayne is survived by his wife, Robin Kishbaugh; his sons Matthew and Doug (Robyn) Kishbaugh; his daughter Stephanie (Louis) Vargas; his foster son John Stotz; and his sister, Susan. He was a devoted grandfather to Atlanta and Athan Kishbaugh, Bradlie and Aubrie Kishbaugh, and Edgar and Raquel Vargas. He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Minnie Kishbaugh and his brother, Ronald.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 21st , 2026 at Grace United Methodist Church, 420 San Lorenzo Avenue NW, Albuquerque, New Mexico 87107. A reception will follow in the parish hall.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research.
