Richard Edward Gutierrez, 65, of Albuquerque, New Mexico, was called home to our Lord Jesus Christ on June 29, 2023. He passed away peacefully in Hondo, New Mexico with his loving friends by his side. He was born on September 6, 1957, in Corpus Christi, Texas to Ramon and Josephina (Fina) Gutierrez. Richard was a beloved brother, father, uncle, and friend.

Richard's life was a testament to his love for life and his unwavering commitment to serving others. He had a kind and generous nature, always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. Richard was the life of every party, effortlessly cracking jokes and brightening the room with his infectious smile. He had a knack for finding humor in every situation, reminding us not to take life too seriously. With his quick wit and generous spirit, Richard had a way of bringing smiles wherever he went, and laughter to even the dullest moments. He and his sister, Carol, shared a special bond together as well as the same birthday. He loved and was very fond of his nieces and nephews, bringing joy and laughter to their lives.

Professionally, Richard excelled in his career as the owner and Independent Contractor of Silverado Construction for over 30 years. His talent for tile work showcased his dedication to craftsmanship. leaving a lasting imprint on numerous projects. Richard also shared his friendliness, skill, and expertise in service to colleagues and customers at Home Depot. He also served as a Building Maintenance Tech with the State of New Mexico, ensuring excellence in all his projects for the various New Mexico Army National Guard armories. Richard briefly contributed his skills to the Albuquerque Fire and Rescue in the Capital Improvement Projects.

When Richard wasn't busy making the world a brighter place, he could be found on the fairways, as he took on the responsibilities as acting President of the Los Chuecos Golf Club. It was on the golf course where Richard expressed his passion and skill. His golfing prowess was matched only by his love for dancing, singing, and belting out tunes at karaoke nights.

Richard had attended Legacy Church, where he found peace with God and spiritual strength. He deeply valued his faith and the community he found within the church.

Richard will be lovingly remembered by his surviving family, including his sons Adrian and Ricky Gutierrez, grandson Jace, his sisters Carol Gutierrez, Kathy Garcia, Debbie and Delbert Vallejos, and Tina and Frank Gallegos. He was preceded in death by his father, Ramon Gutierrez, and his mother, Josephina (Fina) Gutierrez, and his nephew James Ray Baca.

A memorial service to honor Richard's life will be held at Legacy Church, East Campus (4701 Wyoming Blvd NE, Albuquerque, NM 87109) on July 17, 2023 at 10:00 AM, with a viewing starting at 9:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Gutierrez family, who will ensure that the donations are used to support causes close Richard's heart.

Richard Gutierrez will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy of kindness, humor, and love will continue to inspire those who were touched by his presence. We love you Richard.
