Raul Lisandro Rivera was born on September 7, 1960. He was the first-born child of Joe Eli and Enedina Rivera. Raul resided in Sile, NM for most of his life in the family home.

Raul is preceded in death by his father Joe Eli, brother Elias, niece Mary and most recently his Aunt Kathy, Aunt Lupe, Uncle Roy and many other beloved family members.

Raul is survived by his mother Enedina; brother Leonard; sister-in-law Wilma; nephew Martin; nieces Diane, Wahaylia and Barbara and many other aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was blessed with family.

Raul grew up in the small town of Sile. As a child he helped his dad and uncles with various chores around the farm and ranch. His love of agriculture and ranching grew with him. In High School he was an active member of the Future Farmers of America. He maintained irrigation on the farm in Sile and tended to the family garden at the house. Raul also had a passion for the weather. He would often sit outside, and watch storms come and go. Many people would stop to ask him what the weather was going to be like. He always had an answer.

Raul completed one year of school at New Mexico Tech in Socorro, NM. He earned an associate's degree in business from TVI in Albuquerque. Raul retired after 25 years of faithful service with the NM Taxation and Revenue Department in Santa Fe, NM. He enjoyed his job and co-workers.

Raul was also a member of the Sile Mutual Domestic Water and Sewer Association. He often helped his dad read the meters and deliver water bills. He also made sure that the water tank was always full. He kept to the duties of official tank filler after his father passed, and up until his last day.

Raul was an active and faithful member of the Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe Catholic Church in Peña Blanca, NM where he served as an Usher. He also helped to maintain the Santa Barbara Mission Church in Sile. He would help to keep the church building clean and would take up the collection for Mass.

Funeral Services are scheduled for Tuesday, October 29, 2024, at Santa Barbara Mission, in Sile, NM. Viewing at 9:30 am, Rosary at 10:00 am and Funeral Mass at 11:00 am. Burial to follow at the Sile Cemetery.
