Obituary

Ramona Springer, 72, a longtime resident of Albuquerque, passed away on Monday, July 29, 2024.

Ramona is survived by her husband, Louis Springer; three sons, Louis Jr., Eli and Mark; grandchildren, Elias, Zion and Ozzria; siblings, Alfred, Thomas, Dorena, Michael and Michele; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Ramona was born in Santa Fe, New Mexico, to the late Florine Torres and Thomas Romero, on March 25, 1952. She moved to Albuquerque and graduated from West Mesa High School. Ramona started a business, Southwest Manufacturing, with her husband Louis, where the two made and sold jewelry. Ramona was known for her expressive and loving personality, always willing to lend a hand to those in need. She was affectionately known as γιαγιά — Greek for grandmother — to her grandkids and auntie Silly to her nieces and nephews. Ramona loved to fish and travel, but her main hobby was bowling — a sport that took her to tournaments across the country. She is missed dearly by her friends and family.

A funeral service will be held at Jesus First, 13432 Copper Ave. NE, on Friday, August 23, 2024 at 9:00 a.m. Interment will follow at the Santa Fe National Cemetery at 2:00 pm
