Peter L. Conticelli, 66, of Albuquerque, New Mexico, passed away on Saturday, August 8, 2026.

Born on September 19, 1959, in Queens, New York, Peter lived a life defined by integrity, service, and an unwavering devotion to his family and community. He touched countless lives through his strength of character, quiet compassion, and steadfast commitment to helping others.

Peter proudly dedicated 25 years of distinguished service to the New Mexico State Police, rising through the ranks before retiring as a Captain. Throughout his career, he earned the respect and admiration of those who served alongside him through his leadership, professionalism, and unyielding sense of duty. Retirement did not mark the end of his service. He continued to protect and mentor others as the Head of Security at St. Pius X High School, where his calm presence, kind heart, and dedication made a lasting impact on students, faculty, and staff alike.

In 2006, Peter married the love of his life, Carla Conticelli. Together, they shared 19 wonderful years filled with love, laughter, and unwavering support for one another. Outside of work, Peter found joy in challenging himself physically. Whether riding his bike or making the demanding climb up the La Luz Trail, he embraced every adventure with determination and resilience.

Above all, Peter will be remembered as a devoted husband and father, a loyal friend, and a man whose strength, humility, and generous spirit left a lasting impression on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy of service, honor and love will continue to live on in the hearts of his family, friends, colleagues, and all whose lives he touched. Peter is survived by his wife, Carla; his children, Isabella, Angela, Peter, Mathew, and Brian; his grandchildren Salem, and Taylor; his brother, Andrew; and his sisters, Trisha and Joy, his Father-In-Law, Phil Garcia and many other family members sand friends who loved and will miss him.

The Funeral Services, Mass of Christian Burial, will be celebrated at St. Jude Thaddeus Church located at 5712 Paradise Blvd NW, Albuquerque, NM 87114, on Wednesday, August 19, 2026, at 10:00 am with New Mexico State Police Honors.
