Pedro Serna "Pete", was born to Abran and Herculanita Serna June 14, 1930. Pete was the second eldest of seven children.  He passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 23, 2021.

Pete was preceded in death by his son, Ernest Serna; sisters, Rita, Gloria and Maria; granddaughters, Irene and Valerie and by his great granddaughter, Katrina.

He was a devoted husband to Dorothy Serna; loving father of Henry Serna, Sammy Serna, Lorraine Serna, David Serna, Debbie Korpus and husband Eric and Teresa Serna; daughter-in-law, Dolores Serna; grandfather of Cathalina Castro and husband Richard, Cynthia Anaya, Cassandra Tarvin and husband Koden and Joshua Korpus; great grandfather of Joseph Roop, Matthew Roop, Samantha Roop, Santiago Anaya, Nathaniel Anaya, Arianna Serna and Raiden Tarvin; brother to sisters, Olympia Serna, Angelina Buckwald and Celia Moreno; uncle to several nieces and nephews. He was loved and will be greatly missed.

Pete Honorably served his country in the US Army in Korea and was a proud business owner and successful operator of Pete Serna Concrete.  He was known for his faith in God, strong work ethic, generosity, joking nature, and green thumb, which he mastered on his parents farm. He shared his love of the outdoors with his family, whom he taught to camp, fish, hunt, and garden.

Pete was competitive and loved playing games - Tejas with his partner Albert Apodaca, marbles with his best girl and wife of 66 years Dorothy and was known to get into a good-natured cow patty throwing fight or two with his sister Angie, over who was cheating at one of the family baseball games.

Pete, as heaven celebrates your return, your family mourns your departure. We are comforted knowing we will see you again. Until that day, you have taken a piece of our hearts with you. Thank you for the impact you have had on each of us. Our lives won't be the same without you. Love, your family.

Services will be held at Holy Ghost Catholic Church, 833 Arizona St SE. (near Gibson and San Pedro SE) on Friday, October 29, 2021. A visitation will begin at 9:30 am. The Rosary will be recited at 10:30 am followed by the Mass of Christian Burial being celebrated at 11:00 am. There will be a short reception at the Church and then the Burial will be at San Pedro Cemetery with US Army Honors.

Pallbearers will be Joshua, Abran, Joseph, Matthew, Santiago and Nathaniel.
