Patricia Marie Wellington "Patty", our devoted mother, grandmother and a longtime resident of Grants, New Mexico, was born on March 8, 1948 to John and Zora Schmaltz of Gallup, New Mexico.  She went to be with our Lord on Friday, May 14, 2021, at the age of 73.

Patty spent most of her life in Grants as a devoted mother and grandmother.  She faithfully attended and volunteered at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church for many years.

Patty loved helping people, especially those in need. She enjoyed working in her yard, spending time with her friends and family, and especially caring for her grandchildren.  Whatever life threw at her, Patty always relied on her faith to guide her and did it with a positive attitude.

Patricia is survived by three children, Michelle Fett (Buddy), Michael Wellington (Heather) and Pamela McHenry (Mark); one brother, John Schmaltz (Patti); one sister, Georgia Taylor; four grandchildren, Ryan Blechner (Tasha), Tyler King, Madisyn Mott and Ashley Wellington; one great-granddaughter, Aleahannah King; as well as numerous nieces and nephews and extended family members and friends who loved and will miss her.  She will be forever in our hearts.

Memorial Services for Patricia will be held at St. Theresa of Avila Catholic Church in Grants, New Mexico on Friday, May 21, 2012 at 10:00am. A private family interment will take place in Gallup.
