Paris Doughty "Doty" Jordan
Paris "Doty" Jordan, 95, of Los Lunas, New Mexico passed away peacefully on April 3, 2022. Doty was born in Tucumcari, NM to James O. and Vera (Greer) Jordan. He was raised in on a ranch/farm in Quay County eventually moving to McAllister and San Jon, NM, where he graduated from high school. After graduating at the age of 17, he immediately joined the US Navy during World War II and served on the USS Niagara in the Pacific theater until the war ended. After his military service, he attended Eastern New Mexico University where he met and married Jo Nelle Creamer, the love of his life. Their marriage, filled with love and laughter, lasted 64 years and produced six children, 11 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren.
Doty earned a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from New Mexico State University. He worked for and retired from both the US Forest Service after 33 years and the NM State Highway Department after 10 years. He looked forward to watching the NM State Aggies, the University of Oklahoma Sooners, and the Green Bay Packer football teams play. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and spending time with family and friends. His kindness, honesty and sense of humor will be sorely missed.
He is preceded in death by his beloved wife Jo Nelle, his parents, two sons - Jeffrey and Jack, son in law Michael Garcia, siblings Pluma Ringer, Nola Charles, James G. Jordan, William O. Jordan, and Gayle Jordan. He is survived by his children Jo Thwaits (Dennis), Jim (Cathy) Jordan, Jon (Tracy) Jordan, and Janna Garcia, as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends. Graveside services will be at the Santa Fe National Cemetery May 9, 2022, at 9:00 a.m., with US Navy Honors. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Albuquerque Children's Home, 5700 Winter Haven Rd., Albuquerque, NM 87120.
