Obituary

Our Dearly Loved, Nicholas A. Hernandez was born on October 7th, 1980 in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

On April 27th, 2024, he was welcomed into heaven, surrounded by his wife and his three daughters, at the age of 43.

He is survived by his three beautiful daughters, Alexis, Luciana, Gabriella; his loving wife, Danielle Hernandez, whom he affectionately referred to as "Nana"; as well as many family and friends that loved him and will miss him.

On June 15th, 1998, Nicholas and Danielle started their journey as teenagers then made it official as Mr. and Mrs. Nicholas Hernandez on July 12th, 2008. Their Love story didn't come easy, but nothing worth having ever is. They held on and fought for their love. For it is better to have loved and lost than to never have loved at all. They decided to start their little family. From 2001-2004, they were blessed with three beautiful daughters. He loved his daughters very much. They are his pride and joy and his reasons for his life. His wife is his best friend and he is her rock.

Nicholas was a Godly man, amazing provider, the best girl dad, most loving handsome husband, thoughtful brother, fun uncle, caring Nino (Godparent), great nephew, giving son and genuine friend. He is loved by many and it was a blessing to many to cross paths with him. Being his wife has been the most rewarding blessing. No one loved Nicholas more than me. He gave me so much of him as I gave to him for 25 years together and 16 years, in July, of marriage. He will forever be My One True Love, My One and Only, My Rock.

Nicholas a Albuquerque High school graduate, Class of 1999. He was part of the varsity wrestling team and lettered in it and he would pin and roll like no other. Nicholas was a huge family man, always spending time with his wife and their 3 daughters. As well, his niece and nephew, Nadia and Xavier were a huge part of his life. He loved them like his own. Whether it be sitting at home watching movies, keeping busy working on the cars, fixing up the yard, figuring out a new home improvement project to work on, messing around with their 2 dogs- Zia & Duke; Nicholas  was always there and ready to spend time together. He loved to listen to his music (One of his favorite artists was Mariah Carey), he enjoyed dancing, was a huge Bruce Lee fan and even practiced and knew the Martial Arts techniques. Above all, he was always laughing, making jokes and was a great prankster. Nicholas was also a Die Hard Dallas Cowboy Fan, Win or Lose; Atlanta Braves and Chicago Bulls fan.

He started his career with the State of New Mexico Corrections Department at CNMCF in Los Lunas in 2011 as a Correctional Officer. He was promoted to Sergeant Hernandez in 2020. He will always be remembered as the friendly, kind, laughing, willing to lend a helping hand to a fellow brother or sister and most of all for his contagious smile. Day or night his smile brought so much joy to everyone that he crossed paths with. He was a dedicated Sergeant to the State of New Mexico Corrections Department and, wore his badge with honor, to serve and protect. He will be greatly missed by all his Corrections Family.
