Michele Wilkie died peacefully on Sunday, January 17, 2021 at Presbyterian Hospice.  She had a fall with her Parkinson's on Friday, January 8th and was immediately paralyzed.  She knew with her Parkinson's that she wouldn't be able to do rehab.  She said she wanted hospice.  It was nine days from her tragic fall to her quiet death on the hospice unit.

Michele leaves behind her loving husband Dr. Neil Arnet, her sons Simon and Evan (Julian), her siblings Sandy, Bob (Ronnie), Chuck (Zana), Will, and Jim (Barbara), many nieces and nephews, grandnieces, a grandnephew, many cousins, and a host of great friends.  Michele and Neil were married for 34 wonderful years.

Professionally Michele was a terrific nurse who worked in a number of areas across her 35 year career and was excellent in all of them.

Michele loved to travel.  Her first international travel came when she served in the Peace Corps in Nicaragua 1971-73 and set up a women's rural health and nutrition program. Michele and Neil did many trips to Hawaii.  She walked across Kilauea Iki Crater with steam vents spraying when she was pregnant with Simon and watched the glow of lava flowing at night on the Big Island. They visited Bob and Ronnie on Kauai, enjoying hikes, the relaxed company, and lots of fresh seafood, especially the tuna tacos from a favorite food truck. Michele and Neil had a wonderful trip to France – the Eiffel Tower and museums of Paris, the countryside of Chinon, and many castles and gardens along the way.  Their 30 ^th anniversary in Monterey (CA) was a special trip for them.  They loved the Monterey Bay Aquarium and had a great whale watching trip on which they saw many blue whales and humpbacks.

Michele's world was her husband and sons.  She thoroughly enjoyed Simon and Evan.  One summer when Neil was working she took Simon and Evan on a road trip to Las Vegas and then up through California.

Michele was smart, funny, warm, and down to earth.  She was honest, kind, thoughtful, loving, generous, and unselfish.  She was a role model as a person.  Michele was a great wife, mother, sister, aunt, cousin, friend and valued by all.  She was a willing listener whom friends and relatives trusted for wise counsel.  Michele was helpful to so many people. She was the most wonderful person.

Michele and Neil loved each other so much.  They were a great couple.  They often talked about how lucky they were to have each other.
We all wished for more years with Michele.  She will be greatly missed.
