Michael Anthony Salas was born June 1, 1960 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He passed away on Wednesday, November 24, 2021.

Michael was an outdoorsman who loved fishing. He Honorably served his country in the US Marine Corps. He was loved and will be greatly missed.

He was preceded in death by his father, Cipriano Salas; mother, Janet E. Romero and by his brothers, George Salas, Cipriano "Jerry" Salas and Richard Salas.

Michael is survived by his son, Martin Montoya and wife Rachael; daughter, Vanessa Montoya; sisters, Debbie Salas and partner Dolores Hernandez, Betty Candelaria and husband Herman, Karen Garcia and Starlene Arroyos; brothers, Thomas Salas, "Bro" John Serna and wife Monica; granddaughters, Mya Montoya and Stella Montoya; former wife of 23 years, Tina Atencio; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, sister in laws, other family members and friends.

A Celebration of life will be held at Westside Community Center, 1250 Isleta SW Albuquerque, NM 87105, on Saturday, January 8, 2022 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm.

Interment will take place at the Santa Fe National Cemetery on Monday, January 10, 2022 at 3:00 pm with US Marine Corps Honors
