Michael Candelaria was born June 7, 1955 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. A lifelong resident of Albuquerque, he passed away on Monday, February 16, 2026 at the age of 70.
Michael will be remembered as an amazing, very hardworking man who was extremely smart, sharp, very quick witted brother who loved his family. He was an avid sports fan, especially, he loved the Dallas Cowboys. Michael enjoyed fishing, had a contagious laugh and would have made an amazing tour guide, for his knowledge of so many things. He will be greatly missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dolores and Estella Candelaria; brother, Lalo; sisters, Sayo and Fela and by his nephew, Joseph.
Michael is lovingly survived by his five siblings, Tone, Jerry, Carlos, Ramon and Dorothy; many nieces, nephews, including Debbie and Stella; godson, Martin; cousins; as well as other family members and treasured friends who loved him.
Services will be held at St Anne's Catholic Church, 1400 Arenal Blvd. SW. on Wednesday, February 25, 2026. The Rosary will be recited at 8:15 am. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:00 am with the interment following at San Jose de Armijo Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jaime, Marty, Kenny, Jerry Jr., Johnathan, Ray and Stella.
