Michael "Mike" Anthony Rodriquez, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, New Mexico, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, September 11, 2021.
Mike was born on August 13 , 1961 in Albuquerque, New Mexico to Domingo and Paublita Rodriquez. He enlisted in the United States Army on July 12, 1979 and discharged June 28, 1994 as an E-6. After a 15 year career in the Army he began his career in the moving business. Mike and Evelyn started their love story when Mike was 11 and Evelyn was 9 through their church. They were married on September 6, 1980. Then they had three children, Felisha, Michael Jr and Marena.
Mike was a force of nature, determined to work hard, provide for his family and give them the life that they deserved. His family meant more to him than anything else in the world, something he often mentioned. Mike enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and had a strong devotion to the Dallas Cowboys.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Paublita Campa; father, Domingo Rodriquez; brother-in-law, Robert Quezada; uncle, Russel McKissick and other dear family members.
Mike is survived by his wife, Evelyn Rodriquez; his children, Felisha Gabaldon and spouse Gabby Gabaldon, Michael Jr and spouse Amanda Rodriquez, Marena Rodriquez and spouse Jose Cramins; grandchildren, Makayla, Michael III, Damien, Matthew, Diego, Kina, JJ, and Anastacia; his stepfather, Vicente Campa; brothers, Paul Rodriquez and family, Leonard Rodriquez and family and Danny Rodriquez; sister, Debbie Chavez; as well as other family members and friends who loved and will miss him.
There will be a celebration of life on Friday, September 24, 2021, 1:00 p.m. at Lighthouse Baptist Church 4001 12 th St. NW, Albuquerque, NM 87107. Burial will be at the Santa Fe National Cemetery in Santa Fe, on Tuesday, October 5, 2021 at 12:45 p.m. with US Army Honors. Flowers and Condolences can be sent to 2001 St Croix Dr NW, Albuquerque, NM 87120.
