Maya Theresa Luna was born December 27, 1961 in Santa Fe, New Mexico. She passed away on Tuesday, April 25, 2023 at the age of 61.

Maya will be remembered as a treasured friend who was greatly loved and will be missed by so many. She loved to ride her bike, loved to be with her friends and spend time with her family. When you think of Maya, you will remember her laugh and her smile. The moment she walked in the room, there was a presence about her that was undeniable. She loved her family and her animals like no other. We will think of all the great times we've had with her. We could spend hours with all the stories and it will never be enough. She made friends wherever she went. Maya will forever be remembered as an unforgettable and loving person who left a footprint on our hearts.

Maya was preceded in death by her grandparents, Antonia Maes and Elias Maes, Ida Gutierrez and Ernest O. Santistevan; her aunt, Mary Jane Martinez and by her great grandmother, Goldie Petrolle.

Maya is survived by her son, Keaton Romero; daughter-in-law, Yazmine Romero; grandson, Hunter Romero; granddaughter, Anastasia Sanchez; mother, Diana A Santistevan; father, Leo R. Maes; brothers, Mario M. Maes and Matthew Moyle; sister-in-law, Tisha Maes; many aunts, uncles and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

The funeral services will be held at St. Anne Catholic Church, 511 Alicia St. Santa Fe, NM. on Monday, May 22, 2023. The Rosary will be recited 9:00 am. The Eulogy will then be read and the Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 am. Burial will follow at 11:30 am at Santa Fe Memorial Gardens-Rivera Funeral Home, 417 E. Rodeo Rd in Santa Fe. A reception will then take place back at the St Anne Catholic Church Parish Hall where friends and family are welcome attend.
