Mary L Serna, 89, a resident of Albuquerque, New Mexico went home to the Lord on Monday, December 29th 2025. She was born on September 23rd,1936 in Yrisarri, New Mexico in the East Mountains and moved to Albuquerque in 1943. Mary lived a fulfilled, loving and faithful life. Her laughter and smile would light up the room anywhere she went. She was known for her strength, humor, word work, and unwavering dedication to her family. She cherished her time by working, singing, dancing and going on adventures with her late partner of over 20 years, Ralph Ortega. She had a joyful soul, a listening ear, and always had good advice. She'll be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Saul and Antonia Lujan; children, Dolores Aragon and Darrell Serna Sr.; partner, Ralph Ortega; granddaughter, Rosemary; ex-husband, Lionel, and by her siblings, Saul Jr, Helen,Tillie, Sally, Portana, Philomeno, Cordella and Jerry.

She is survived by her children, Dennis Serna, Doug Serna and his wife Janet Serna; sisters, Nora and Gloria; 15 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; 8 great great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who loved her greatly.

A Prayer Service for Mary Serna will be at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Parish, 5415 Fortuna NW, Albuquerque, NM 87105, on Tuesday, January 6, 2026 at 10:45 am.  A reception will follow in the Family Center at the same location.
