Mary Frances Livingston

Mary Frances Livingston, 74, of New Mexico, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, at Presbyterian Kaseman Hospice in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Mary entered this world as Mary Frances Moretti on August 15, 1951, in Miami, Florida, welcomed by her parents at Edgewater Hospital. As she wrote in her own memoirs, "I was given my grandmother's first name, Mary, and my mother's middle name, Frances," as she was named in honor of her deeply loved grandmother, Mary Letitia, and her mother, Edith Frances. She later became an older sister to Paul Joseph ("PJ") Moretti, who preceded her in death.

Mary's childhood in Miami, Florida, was characterized by the loving support of her family. She was raised primarily by her father, her stepmother, and her beloved grandparents. Her grandmother played a crucial, supportive role in her upbringing, instilling in Mary a lifelong love of reading, learning, and treasured Italian-American family traditions. Although Mary did not know her own mother, she found enduring love and support that would later define her own generous spirit and make her a wonderful, devoted mother to her own children.

An early commitment to self-improvement and education marked her life. She attended private and boarding schools such as Miss Harris' Florida School for Girls and Saint Ann's in Boca Raton, eventually graduating from Miami Senior High School. Though she did not attend college immediately, she was a dedicated student of life, pursuing self-improvement and education throughout her years.

Mary's life was defined by her devotion to family and friends. She became a mother later in life, raising her two children, Christina Marie and Michael Thomas Ebben, with her third husband, Tom. Mary was a passionate advocate for her children's dreams and education, volunteering extensively in their schools and extracurricular activities. She also embraced the role of stepmother to her second husband Ron's two daughters. Mary also shared her later years with Steve, with whom she maintained a treasured, enduring friendship throughout the remainder of her life.

Mary held a series of roles throughout her working life, using her organizational and interpersonal talents as an accountant, office manager, and teacher's assistant. Later, driven by her spiritual curiosity and a desire to help others, she became deeply involved in alternative healing, energy work, and spiritual development which further shaped her career. Mary's faith was centered on The Urantia Book, which she studied and followed with dedication and devotion. Her commitment led to several years of work with the Jesusonian Foundation, and she remained a long-time, active member of the Urantia Book community. She was a published author, writing three books in addition to her memoirs—all of which were celebrated secondary works to The Urantia Book.

Mary was a person of deep passion, known for her extraordinary generosity and unwavering compassion. She was truly a gift-giver at heart, known for her quiet support for those she loved and her constant search for ways to brighten their lives. Her resilience and loving spirit were evident even as she faced and overcame significant challenges throughout her life. Mary was a lifelong learner and an enthusiastic advocate for children's books. This curiosity fueled her love of travel, taking her to amazing places as a youth, including Russia and Paris, and later to destinations like Malaysia and Belize as an adult, alongside many family trips and cruises. In her final years, she relocated to New Mexico, where she lived until her death.

Mary Frances Livingston will be remembered as a devoted mother, wife, and friend. She leaves behind a legacy of unconditional love, perseverance, warmth, and humor, and the enduring importance of family and faith.

Mary is survived by her children, Christina Marie Ebben and Michael Thomas Ebben; her aunt and uncle, Pat and Dennis McDougle; her nephews, Tony Moretti and Jon (Jen) Anderson; and many, many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Paul Joseph "PJ" Moretti.

A Memorial Service to honor the life of Mary Frances Livingston will be held on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. in the chapel of  Direct Funeral Services, 2919 4TH Street NW. Albuquerque, NM 87107.
