Mary Helen Chavez, age 98, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, January 8, 2021.

She retired from Sears after 28 years of dedicated service.  Mary Helen will be fondly remembered for her cooking and willingness to lend a helping hand when needed.  She enjoyed crocheting and bingo, although her best times were spent fishing and dancing with her beloved husband, "Lando".

She was preceded in death by her husband of 76 years, Orlando Chavez as well as her   parents Manuel and Maria Elena Chavez.

She is survived by daughters Beatrice Carroll and Denise Coriz; son Orlando S. Chavez and wife Lillian; 12 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; several great-great grandchildren; and one sister Georgia Montoya.

Pallbearers will be Claude Carroll Jr., Daniel Apodaca, Teresa Carroll, Annette Abreu and Andres Trujillo.

The family would like to thank everyone for their thoughts, prayers and understanding during this difficult time.
