Mark Daniel Torres of Alamosa, CO passed away on March 21, 2022, after a long illness. Mark was born on October 22 ^nd , 1956, to John and Martina Torres in Greeley, CO. The fifth of ten children, Mark was proceeded in death by his parents John and Martina and brothers John and Patrick. Mark is survived by his wife Kathy Torres, children Cheryl, Martin, Melissa, Jeremy and several grandchildren, his brothers Mike and Andrew, sisters Sharon, Kathleen, Angela, Mary, Carla, numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends.

Mark attended Highland High School in Albuquerque, New Mexico and graduated in October of 1974. Mark's education included his passion and study of instrumental classical music. Mark's talent and devotion playing the viola led him to become a musician for the Highland High School orchestra. Mark's high

school music teacher who observed his high level of talent suggested that he audition for the Albuquerque Youth Symphony Orchestra; he auditioned and was selected from many candidates. During his tenure with them the Albuquerque Youth Symphony was chosen to travel abroad and perform with other prominent classical musicians from around the world in Vienna, Austria. His love and devotion for the viola remained with him throughout his life.

Mark enlisted in the United States Air Force October 23 ^rd , 1975. He actively served four years as an automotive mechanic, with two years overseas in Germany. Mark was honorably discharged July 9th, 1979.

Mark returned to Denver, CO and soon after met his spouse, Kathy Barros. They remained together until his death. Mark was a devoted father to Cheryl, Martin, Melissa, and Jeremy. He was a loving and giving grandfather to his grandchildren. Mark enjoyed camping, fishing, swimming and many other outdoor activities. He was an avid reader of the Bible and could quote many passages from it. He had a green thumb and enjoyed planting his vegetable garden while teaching his children to appreciate nature and to nurture our earth. Mark had a broad knowledge of the world around him and shared it with many ofus.

Mark's sense of humor, loyalty to family, lengthy conversations and ability to love will remain in our hearts forever.

May 19, 2022. Rosary begins at 10:30 am with Mass to follow at 11:00 am. Mark will be interred at Fort Logan Cemetery; 3698 South Sheridan Boulevard (West Entrance) Denver, CO. at 1:00 pm.

Visitors should arrive at Fort Logan by 12:30 where they will wait at Staging Area A where they will be escorted to Shelter A for the funeral to begin.

Reception to follow at Light of the World Catholic Church from 2:00- 3:30 pm
