Mario Issac Tapia, 21, went home to be with Lord on Thursday, September 22, 2022. He was a graduate of West Mesa High School. Mario enjoyed riding motorcycles and working of vehicles. He was a mechanic technician for the Subaru and Cadillac dealership here in Albuquerque. When he was not working on cars, he enjoyed gaming on his PlayStation. He also really enjoyed hanging out with his family and friends and loved to make people laugh.
He was preceded in death by his maternal great grandparents Manuel and Melecia Gallegos; great grandmothers Cruzita Tapia and Rose Lovato; uncles Ralph Baca, Jason Chavez and Rosendo Chavez; cousins Nathan Garcia, Gabriel Garcia and Emmette Castillo.
He is survived by his mother B. Katrina Gallegos; father Mario L. Tapia (Marla Lopez); brother Adrian Lopez; grandparents Leroy Gallegos (Lorie); nana's Tina Chavez and Eva Lopez; grandfather Leo Tapia (Ivonne); great grandparents Edward Chavez (Tinsy); uncles and aunties Simmon Chavez (Christina), Jeannie Baca, Kirsten Hood-Kropf, Alexandra Tapia, Vanessa Brown and Melissa Vigil; cousins Xavier, Andrew, Micky, Jalen, Raelynn, Nathan Gallegos and Hailey; and his pets Chico and Tumbles. Mario will be deeply missed by all that knew him.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 5, 2022 beginning at 6:45 p.m. with a Rosary to be recited at 7:30 p.m. at St. Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church, 5712 Paradise Blvd. NW. Final viewing will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. with Funeral services to follow on Thursday, October 6, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at Legacy Church, 4701 Wyoming Blvd NE. Burial will take place at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. A Reception will follow at the Moose Lodge at 2121 Edith Blvd. NE. Pallbearers will be Brandon Martinez, Santiago Marrufo, Anthony Briones, Simmon Chavez, Andrew Baca and Mikey Baca. Honorary pallbearers will be Xavier Baca, Jalen Baca, Steven Farley and Adrian Lopez.
