Maria Rosa Irene Saavedra passed peacefully into eternal rest on Monday, February 13, 2023, surrounded by her loving family and friends.  She was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico on August 26, 1941, to Pasqual and Dorothy Saavedra.

Maria Rosa was preceded in death by her father, Pasqual Saavedra; mother, Dorothy Saavedra; sisters, Isabelle Saavedra and Pauline Sedillo; daughter, Kathy Gutierrez and son, Gilbert Serna.

Maria Rosa is survived by her sons, John Serna and wife Mónica and Robert Serna; daughter, Linda Saiz; brothers, Roger Saavedra and David Saavedra; sister, Margaret Chandler; 17 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

We will miss your selfless, generous spirit and your fabulous red chile!!! We know you are dancing to the deeste!!

Services are scheduled to be held on Saturday, February 25, 2023, at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Church, located at 5415 Fortuna Rd. SW, Albuquerque, NM, 87105. A Rosary will be recited at 9:15 am followed by a celebration of the Mass at 10:00 am. Following the Mass a reception will be held at  the West Mesa Community Center, 5500 Glenrio Rd NW. ABQ., NM  87105.
