Maria Elisida Cordova Gutierrez, "Lala", entered fully into the presence of her Lord and Savior on Monday, September 11, 2023, at the age of 92 years. She was a long-time resident of Albuquerque, New Mexico with many members of her family.

Lala's death marks the end of a generation in the Cordova family. She will be remembered for her loving and giving soul. She always remembered all members of her family and always asked about their wellness. She made a sincere impression on all who knew her and many called her their friend. Lala will truly be missed by all who loved her, who befriended her and knew her. Those we love we never lose, for always they will be loved, remembered, treasured, always in our memory.

Lala was preceded in death by her husband, Victor A. Gutierrez; son, James Joe Gutierrez; parents, Eugenio E. Cordova and Magdalena C. Cordova; siblings, Eugene C. Cordova, Magdalena C. Duran, Eloy C. Cordova, Jose C. Cordova, Ruben C. Cordova, Wilfrido C. Cordova, Leo C. Cordova and Richard C. Fortune (nephew).

She is survived by her daughter, Karen Gutierrez and grandson, Scott. Auntie Lala is also survived by her loving nieces and nephews, Theresa, Nancy, Juanita, Louise, Lucille, Rita, Patsy, Bernadette, Barbara, Raymond, Larry James, Joseph, George, Jerry, Arthur, Arnold, Danny, Steve, Leo and Marney.

Services will be held in the Chapel of Direct Funeral Services, located at 2919 4th St. NW, Albuquerque, NM, on Friday, September 22, 2023 beginning at 10:00 am. The burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, 1900 Edith Blvd. NE, where she will be laid to rest with her husband, Victor.  A reception will then take place at the  American Legion Post 100, located at 424 Candelaria Rd. NW at 1:00 pm.
