Margaret J Prina (Gilford), went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 13, 2022 after a short illness. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Russell Prina; her daughter, Tiffany Crouse (David); her son, Josh Prina (Colleen); four grandchildren, Andrew Crouse, Tristin Crouse Ruggles (Drew), Kiley and Cole Prina, as well as two great-grandchildren Parker and Remy Ruggles. She was predeceased by her loving mother, Gertrude (May 2015) and by her beloved step-father, Fred Templin (August 1985).

Margaret was born April 15, 1942, in West Bend, WI, an only child to Gertrude and Emmett Gilford. She and her mother moved to Albuquerque for health reasons in 1951.  She graduated from St. Vincent's Academy in Albuquerque, NM and worked for the phone company where she met and later married Russell Prina in 1961. They had 2 children Tiffany (Crouse) and Josh, lived in Colorado and Utah before settling back in Albuquerque in 1979.  Margaret was an avid quilter and later a co-owner of The Quiltworks quilt store in Albuquerque until her retirement in 2000. She continued to teach the almost lost art of hand quilting.

Margaret was a life long member of BSF, a long-time member of PEO, was a gracious host to many EAA Chapter events, was very active in her church as well as the NM Quilters Association, she volunteered in her community by helping to feed the homeless and make quilts to donate to various organizations. Margaret was masterful at nourishing and maintaining friendships with people around the country.   She will be missed by many.

A Memorial Service will be held at Heights Cumberland Presbyterian Church,  8600 Academy Rd NE, Albuquerque, NM 87111, on Saturday, January 28, 2023 at 2:00 pm.
