Mabel L. Gallegos, a lifetime resident of Albuquerque, was born May 5, 1935 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 22, 2024 at the age of 89.

Mabel was a member of the SNMDMP2, The American Legion Post 69 and The Alameda Lions Club and was even appointed number 1 fan for team US, The United States National Women's Soccer Team. She loved to watch all the women's soccer games with her best buddy, Jordan Maestas.

She was born to Ramon Garcia and Marineta Martinez, whom preceded her in death as well and her husband, Louie Gallegos Sr.

Mabel is survived by her children, Eva DeLara and husband Shelden Delara Sr (deceased), Louie Gallegos Jr and wife Debi Gallegos, Andrew Gallegos and wife Sherry Gallegos, Celeste Biever and husband Brian Beiver, Sam Gallegos Sr and  wife Kitty Gallegos, Teresa Velarde, Ben Gallegos and wife Lela Gallegos, Mary Maestas and partner Marty Valdez; 33 grandchildren;  63 great grandchildren; 18 great great grandchildren; as well as other family members and friends who loved and will miss her greatly.

Services will be held at St Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church, 5712 Paradise Blvd NW, Albuquerque, NM 87114, on Wednesday August 28, 2024. The Rosary will be recited at 9:30 am. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at10:15 am. Interment will follow at Vista Verde Memorial Park,  310 Sara Rd, Rio Rancho, New Mexico 87124.

Pallbearers will be Shelden DeLara Jr, Jesse Cordova, James Gallegos, Josh Gallegos, Nick Quintana and Louie Velarde. The Honorary Pallbearer will be Angela Proa.
