Luis Bernardo Carrillo

December 2, 1945 -September 5, 2024

Luis passed peacefully surrounded by his wife and loved ones on Thursday, September 5, 2024.

He was born and raised in Belen, New Mexico to parents, Hipolito and Sirilia Carrillo.  He graduated from Belen High School in 1964 and joined the Navy and Honorably served his country for 4 years in 1964.  When he got out of the Navy he went on to graduate with his Associates in Science Degree in Electronics Engineering Technology in June of 1971.  He married his wife, Annabelle Padilla in 1976 and had their 1st daughter in 1979, 2nd daughter in 1982, and son in 1984.  Luis then retired in 2009 from Honeywell after 30 years as an Electronic Technician.  He loved to take his nieces and nephews to company parties and loved to spend time helping people even when they didn't need it.  He loved being involved with his family and coaching his children, teaching catechism, going to dance recitals and games.  Luis also loved taking his children camping or traveling to visit family.

He is survived by his wife of 48 Years, Annabelle Carrillo; children, Kirsten Van Blaricom and husband Cliff, Leann C. Gordinier and husband Billy, Luis B. Carrillo II and wife Alicia; grandchildren, Isaiah O'Connell, Noah Carrillo, Adam Carrillo and Kianna Van Blaricom; siblings, Elsie Gonzales, O. Lurie Carrillo and wife Priscilla, Cris Carrillo and Stella; as well as several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins and friends who loved and will miss him.

Services will be held at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, 1860 Griegos Rd. NW, Albuquerque, NM 87107 on Wednesday, October 16, 2024. The Rosary will be recited at 10:30am. The Mass of Christian Burial will follow the Rosary. A Reception will then take place at 1st Class Learning Center, 5111 Homestead Circle NW, Albuquerque, NM 87120.  The Church will open at 9:45am, if you wish to pay your respects to the family.

The military burial, with US Navy Honors, will be held at the Santa Fe National Cemetery, 501 N. Guadalupe St., Santa Fe, NM 87501 on Friday, October 18, 2024, at 9:30am.
