Lucy M. Trujillo, 77, went to be with our Lord on September 21, 2023 at home while surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Escondida, NM on December 13, 1945 to the late Rosendo and Flora Martinez. Lucy was preceded in death by her parents, her grandson Patrick Trujillo; siblings Rosa Romero, Felimon Martinez, Flora A. Martinez, Frances Martinez, Corina Romero, Gloria Esquibel, Roman Martinez and Susie Abeyta along with her life partner Mike Olson.
She is survived by her children Isabel (Jose) Martinez, Patricia Trujillo and Teddy Trujillo; grandchildren Sonya (Will), Serina (Jerritt), Manuel, Angelique and Monique as well as ten great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters Aurelia Livingston and Juanita Martinez of Las Vegas, NM and brother Procopio "Jose" Martinez of Albuquerque, NM and numerous nieces, nephews and other family members. She is also survived by her best friends Mary Lucero, Cleo Vargas and Josephine Owen.
She attended school in Wagon Mound, NM. Upon completion of her education she worked for several NM State Agencies, retiring in 1998 from the NM Department of Workforce Solutions (formerly Department of Labor). Upon retiring she continued her devotion to her family, and was a wonderful mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend. She was a devout Catholic, and her faith and love of God sustained her throughout her life. Family values were always a priority in her life, and she conveyed these values to her children and grandchildren.
The Rosary for Lucy will be at 9:00 a.m. with a Funeral Mass at 9:30 a.m. to be held on Friday, September 29, 2023 at Immaculate Conception Church located at 619 Copper Ave NW, Albuquerque, NM. Pallbearers will be Jose Martinez, Will Lujan, Jerritt Garcia, Mark Chavez, Matthew Chavez and Anthony Larranaga. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, 1900 Edith Blvd NW.
