Louis (Louie) Albert Benavidez Jr., 48, of Albuquerque, NM passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Wednesday, June 8th, 2022.

Louie was born on July 27, 1973, to Patricia Benavidez and Louie Benavidez Sr. He attended Albuquerque High School and was an ambitious wrestler known for his loyalty, stubbornness, and confidence. After graduating in 1991 he married his high school sweetheart, Teresa Cordova. Their 26 years of marriage blessed them with two wonderful sons and a beautiful granddaughter.

Everyone who knew Louie knew him as a kind, loving, and admirable man. He was outgoing and immediately loved by all who met him. Louie was an avid Dallas Cowboy fan, jokester, car fanatic, music enthusiast, mentor, outdoorsman and family man.

Louie bravely navigated his life's journey with strength and determination.

He is survived by his wife, Teresa; two sons, Louie III and Gabriel; granddaughter, Leila; mother, Patricia; sister, Renee; nephews, Evan and Tristyn; as well as his aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, nieces, and countless friends. Preceding him in death was his father, Louie Sr; his brother, Anthony; his nieces, Raylynn and Savanha; his maternal grandparents, Orlando and Margaret; and his paternal grandparents, Blas and Josie.

Rosary will be held at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church on Wednesday, June 22nd, 2022 at 6:00 pm, 4020 Lomas Blvd NE. Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church on Thursday, June 23rd, 2022 at 10:00 am. The interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, 1900 Edith Blvd. NE at 11:30 am.

There will be a celebration of life following the burial at the Loyal Order of Moose, 2121 Edith Blvd NE.
