Linda Lee Hedlund

1943 - 2025

Linda Lee Hedlund, our cherished wife, mother, grandmother, and longtime member of the Rio Rancho community, passed away peacefully at her home in Rio Rancho, New Mexico, on Thursday, October 2, 2025.

Born in Emporia, Kansas on July 23, 1943, Linda was one of three children born to Clarence Wesley and Hazel Sampson. She was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved siblings, Clarence Wesley (Sam) Sampson and Cheryl Bowen.

Linda shared 57 years of marriage with her devoted husband, Jon P. Hedlund. Together, they built a loving family, and a life filled with cherished memories. Linda was the proud mother of eight children; Wesley Hedlund of Tijeras, NM, Nancy (John) Rebarchik of Albuquerque, NM, Bobby (Donna) Hedlund of Marble Falls, TX, Linda (Chris) Schroyer of Elizabeth, CO, Stacy Dorsey of Centennial, CO, Jon (Haley) Hedlund Jr. of Inman, SC, Dawn Hedlund of Parker, TX, and Dana McShane of Manhattan Beach, CA. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren, all of whom brought her immense joy and pride.

At the time of her home-going, Linda was a devoted member of The Journey Rio Rancho Church.  Linda's faith and community spirit were a guiding light throughout her life.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the First Baptist Church of Rio Rancho, NM, on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at 10:00 AM. A private interment will take place at the Santa Fe National Veterans Cemetery in Santa Fe, NM, at a later date.

Linda's warm smile, love, and strength will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew her.
