Obituary

Lillian Gomez "Lil", took her final sentimental journey to heaven on Tuesday, April 5, 2022. She was 75 years young.

Lil was admired by everyone, everywhere, and anyone who met her liked her and loved to be around her. She had a strong outgoing personality and loved to go to Bingo and the Casino, with many of her close friends. She was always dressed up, looked like a million bucks and would light up a room.

Back in her earlier years, she was on a bowling team called "Ten Pingals." She worked at Presbyterian Hospital for 17 years and was also a caregiver for her mother, Mary, for many years. Oh, and don't forget how she loved tigers and lions and how she loved to sing!

Lil was the one who always remembered everyone's birthday, anniversary and wedding date. She would send cards and/or make time to call and make sure everyone was doing ok. As well, she was always helping everyone. Lil was always invited to get togethers and friends and family were always welcome in her home.

Sadly, we had to let her go to rest and someday we will all meet up again. The pain in our heart is big, but our love for Lillian is enormous. I believe we will be together some day, so smile when you think of her. She is resting now; no more pain. May Lillian rest in peace.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ramon Casias Sr. and Mary Chavez "Elvie"; sisters, Dolores Valdez and Riena Sanchez; brothers, Carlos Casias and Paul Casias; nephew, Gene Sanchez, and by her aunt, Ernestine "Tina" Gonzales.

Lil is survived by her loving husband of 51 years, Frank Gomez; they were in love for 60 years. Lil is also survived by her two sisters, Carol Lucero and Eva Martin and husband Emery; godson, Eric Gallegos; two brothers, Raymond Casias Jr and wife Robin and Ray Anthony Casias; nine godchildren; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and many more extended family members and many friends who loved and will miss her greatly.

We will have a Mass of Christian Burial to celebrate her life at Holy Family Catholic Church, 562 Atrisco Dr. SW., on Friday, April 29, 2022 at 9:00 am. A reception will follow from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm in the banquet hall where all are welcome. Please join us! Thank you, everyone, for your prayers, love and support in this difficult time. We have all been blessed to have Lillian in our family and in our lives. To all of her friends who loved her as their own family "Thank you!". Also, "Thank you" to her sisters-in-law, Gloria, Corine and Mable whom she loved very much.
