Leonard “Lenny” Griffith

Leonard "Lenny" Griffith, 63, passed away Monday, Jul 13, 2026, at his home in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Born September 7, 1962, in Chihuahua, Chihuahua, Mexico, Leonard was the son of the late, James Lora Griffith and Maria B. Griffith. He is also preceded in death by his sister, Manuela Acosta. He is in heaven now with his two late grandsons, Isaiah and Diego Garcia, taking care of them now.

Survivors include one daughter, Angela Garcia of Albuquerque, New Mexico; one grandson, Christian Garcia of Albuquerque, New Mexico; one sister, Cleo Ortiz of San Angelo, Texas; two brothers, Jim Griffith (Carolyn) of Coosada, Alabama and Ray Griffith (Linda) of San Tan, Arizona, to include many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Lenny was well loved. After the passing of his sister in 2011, he was received by the Martinez family as one of their own. He lived a happy life with them for 15 years. Lenny is now in heaven with Maria Martinez who took care of him for 13 years until her passing at the age of 94. Her daughters Dolores, Anna and grandson, Bernardo lll took care of Leonard until his passing, with Dolores at his side along with his roommates that treated him like family.

In spite of Leonard's disabilities, he had a beautiful mind. He could build anything he put his hands on. His heart was full of compassion and love, always willing to help and protect his family with a heart filled with love, as he had a servant's heart and was always willing to help. His passion was to protect his family. He will be dearly missed.

We would like to thank Cornocopia Adult Day-program for all they did for Leonard. He loved going to his program and talked about all his outings and special places he got to go eat at.

The Funeral Service for Lenny will be held at Mt. Calvary Cemetery Chapel, 1900 Edith Blvd., ABQ., NM. 87102, on Friday, September 11th, 2026 at 9:00 AM. The interment will follow the service in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery Columbarium.
