In Loving Memory of 

Leo Felix

June 20, 1960 - September 5, 2026

Leo Felix made his heavenly departure on September 5, 2026, leaving behind cherished memories and a lasting legacy in the hearts of the family and friends who loved him.

Leo was a hardworking and dedicated man who recently retired after more than 32 years of service with the University of New Mexico Physical Plant. He took pride in his work and in the life he built for himself and his family. His commitment, determination, and steady presence reflected the kind of man he was - dependable, capable, and devoted to the people and things that mattered most.

Family was especially important to Leo. He treasured the time he spent with those he loved and found joy in the simple moments they shared. He enjoyed being outdoors, especially hunting, fishing, and camping. He was also skilled in carpentry and took satisfaction in working with his hands. Leo cared deeply about his home and yard and took pride in keeping them well maintained, often spending time outside making sure everything was just the way he wanted it.

Leo's life was defined by the memories he created, the work to which he dedicated himself, and the love he shared with his family and friends. Though he is no longer with them, his presence will continue to be felt in the lessons he left behind, the places he cared for, and the memories held by all who knew him. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.

Leo was preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Rita Felix; his sister, Joann Felix; his maternal grandparents, Mercedes and Oracio Sanchez; and his paternal grandparents, Christina and Cipriano Felix.

Those left to cherish Leo's memory include his longtime partner and wife of 42 years, Jenny Valdez, who cared for him throughout his life and remained by his side through his final days. He is also survived by his children, Oracio Felix and Julie and James Felix; his stepchildren, Bernadette, Theresa, and Maria; his grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his sisters, Betty and her husband, Rick; Dorothy and her husband, Jim; and Diane and her husband, Oscar; his brother, Bobby and his wife, Elaine; and his aunts, Nancy Sandoval, and Frances and her husband, Greg Pacheco.

Leo will also be lovingly remembered by his many nieces, nephews, lifelong friends, and all those whose lives he touched. He cherished his family dearly, and the love he shared with them will remain in their hearts forever.

SERVICES

Services will be held at Holy Family Catholic Church, 562 Atrisco Blvd. SW., on Tuesday, September 22, 2026. A visitation will begin at 8:00 am with the Rosary being recited at 8:30. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:00. Following the services, Leo will be laid to rest at Mount Calvary Cemetery. A reception will follow at the Moose Lodge.

May Leo rest in eternal peace, and may his memory continue 

to bring comfort to all whose lives he touched.
