Obituary

Kenneth Wayne Lyngen, 61, of Los Ranchos de Albuquerque, passed away peacefully at his home on June 16, 2026 following a courageous two year battle with cancer.

Kenny was born September 14, 1964 in Los Alamos, New Mexico to Wayne and Virlene (Truby) Lyngen.  He was a graduate of Cibola High School, Class of 1982.  His love for dogs led him to a career in show dog handling and grooming. He showed several Grand Champions and was proud to have taken part in the prestigious Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show. Kenny also had a passion for fast cars, volunteering for several years at Laguna Seca Raceway in Monterey County, California.  In 2023,  Kenny moved back to the Lyngen family homestead in Albuquerque and could often be found at local car shows with his pride and joy 1972 Maverick.

Kenny is survived by his mother Virlene A. Lyngen, sisters Kelli (Randal) Gilmore and Kimberly (Mark) Parish; as well as three nieces, one great-niece and five great-nephews.

He was predeceased by his father Wayne on December 24, 2025, two uncles, one aunt and a great-niece.
