Kathy Joy Vialpando-Tate, age 78, of Albuquerque, New Mexico, went home to be with our Lord on March 16, 2025. She was truly a woman of God. She believed with all her heart when she prayed for someone that the Lord would answer her prayers
Kathy is preceded in death by her beloved parents Patriciano (Pat) and Emma Benavidez and her husband Danny Tate; sisters Delia Chavez and Ella Salazar; her sons Frankie Alderete and Jerry Alderete.
She is survived by her Baby (Boo Boo); brothers Pete and Hilda Benavidez and Gilbert and Jean Benavidez; her children Elfigo "Al" Alderete, Annette and Billy Shanahan and Angel Lucero. Kathy was a proud grandmother of 15 grandkids, 35 great grandkids and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Kathy retired from the Department of Labor in the late 90's. She has been a member of New Beginnings Church since it was in the South Valley when it was called Southside Church of God.
Kathy loved Pastor Richard and Cindy Mansfield. She had many brothers and sisters in the Lord. Kathy had numerous friends that she has met along her journey in life.
Though Kathy's presence on this earth has ended, her spirit will forever linger in those who knew and loved her. We will all miss her dearly, but happy she is enjoying her forever home in heaven with Jesus and her family.
