Katherine Wanda Strogen, known to her loved ones as Kathy, passed away on Monday, September 4, 2023, at the age of 64 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She was born on October 23, 1958 at Holloman, AFB just outside of Alamogordo, New Mexico.

Kathy will be remembered as a compassionate and generous soul who was always willing to lend a helping hand. She embodied the saying "she would give someone the shirt of her back" if they needed it. Her kind-hearted nature extended to her love for nature and animals. Kathy would often bring home stray or injured animals, providing them with the care they needed. Her creativity shone through in her passion for crafts and art, and she possessed a knack for tackling challenging projects such as painting the interiors and exteriors of homes.

In her career, Kathy was a talented multi-tasker. She painted homes and apartments, showcasing her attention to detail and skill with a brush. Additionally, she worked in the Food and Beverage Industry for many years, leaving a lasting impact on those she served.

When she wasn't working, Kathy found joy in various hobbies. Crafting, painting, and sewing allowed her to express her creativity and bring beauty into the world.

Kathy preceded in death by her father Ronald Lee Strogen. She was a beloved mother to her son, Jason Biskey and grandmother to her grandson, Elijah Biskey. She is also survived by her mother, Teresa S. Ortiz-Strogen; sister, Dyanna Lynn Ziller; brother-in-law, Zane Ziller; sister, Penny S. Castillo; brother, Markie A. Ortiz; nephews, Johnny R. Grice, Andrew Moya, Phillip Moya and David Hosford and many great-nephews.

A Memorial Service to honor Kathy's life will be held in the Chapel of Direct Funeral Services, located at 2919 4th St. NW, Albuquerque, NM 87107 on Thursday, September 14, 2023 at 10:00 am MST. The burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery located at 1900 Edith Blvd. NE, Albuquerque, NM 87102 at 12:00 noon MST.
