Katherine "Kate"
Griego Starr
Jan 13, 1942 — Aug 6, 2023
Albuquerque
Katherine Griego Starr "Kate", age 81, passed away on Sunday, August 6, 2023. She passed away in the comfort of her own home after persevering through many years of sickness and even COVID. Kate was a remarkable and strong woman in her faith and love of God. She was an amazing, caring, and supporting wife to her late husband of 42 years, Jerry Starr. Kate was the best mom that her son Clint could have ever gotten, more than he ever have asked for; Truly Blessed! As well, Kate was a very caring grandmother to her three grandchildren, Chantel, Lacey and Belle. She loved being a mother-in-law to Christina and a step-grandma to Orlando Jimenez and family; Stephanie Giron and family; Xaviour Zuniga and Jaedyn Mahboub. Kate also loved cooking, baking, sitting outside enjoying the company of neighbors and family. Most of all, she loved going to the casino. Even on her last day, before being called home, she had a fun filled day, going to the casino and Sonic with her "Road Dawg", Kimberly Joy; they were also known as the "Thelma and Louise", hahaha, for their many adventures!
Kate was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 42 years, Jerry Starr; her father, Adolfo and mother, Gavina Griego; brothers, Efren and Fito Griego; sisters, Ruth Tafoya, Frances Romero and Celia Sedillo. She is lovingly survived by her last surviving sister, Fabiola Martinez, age 90, of Denver, CO.; her treasured son, Jerry Clint Starr and his wife Christina Starr; grandchildren, Chantel, Lacey and Belle; as well as her nieces and nephews whom she cared for greatly.
