Karl Eloy
Garcia
Jul 24, 1968 — Feb 17, 2022
Albuquerque
Our hearts were broken on February 17, 2022, when our beloved Karl Garcia, age 53, went home to the Lord. He was born July 24, 1968.
He is survived by his parents Eloy and wife Gloria Garcia; mother Elizabeth Garcia; his wife Yolanda; his daughters Amanda and Tiana; the love of his life his grandson Orion Garcia; brothers Erik and Joshua Garcia; and many nieces and nephews.
Karl began his love for baseball almost 20 Years ago at Westgate little league. He helped coach junior and senior teams that won at both district and state levels, even sending a big league team to regionals in Louisiana. His love for the game grew as he held several little league positions from equipment manager to president. It became a family affair as his wife Yolanda became a board member, and held the treasurer position, and even his daughters Amanda and Tiana helped out at the league. He always put the kids first. Throughout this time he began umpiring at the little league level even being invited to umpire at the junior softball World Series in Waco, Texas. He has been umpiring high school for the NMOA and never turned down any assignment. In 2007 he was asked to coach at the West Mesa High school baseball program. He coached at Albuquerque High, and Atrisco Heritage where he was part of the schools first and only district 5A champions. He continued to support little league giving his time and talents always saying, " These kids deserve to get the best no matter Tball to Seniors, Baseball to Softball." He finally reached the the pinnacle of his coaching career by coaching his grandson Orion! He is loved and respected by players, coaches, and his fellow umpires Karl will be sorely missed!
