Julia Fernando went to be with the Lord and loved ones in Heaven on Friday, August 26, 2023.  Julia was preceded in death by her husband, Francisco, her parents, Frank and Carmelita, her siblings Esequiel and Alice, and many relatives and friends.

Julia is survived by her son, Lee Herrera and wife, Jeannette; daughter Carmelita Fernando; son Frank Fernando and wife, Bekka; and grandchildren Noel Fernando, Claire Gijsbers and husband, Bridges and Nicholas Fernando and wife, Ariana. She was Great-Grandma to Caroline, Boen and Chloe.

Julia was creative and enjoyed crocheting, weaving, whistling, dancing, beadwork and going out with family and friends. She had a beautiful caring soul, was a huge inspiration, brought a smile to our hearts and was remembered by all who knew her.  Today she is dancing with angels.

She was deeply loved and will forever be in our hearts.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated by Abbot Christian Leisy at Gate of Heaven Cemetery Chapel, 7999 Wyoming Blvd NE, Albuquerque, NM on Friday, November 17, 2023 at 1:00 pm.  Following interment, a reception will be held at the Masonic Lodge, 3801 Osuna Road, NE, Albuquerque, NM.
