Judy Vern Kerr our beloved mother was taken up by the Lord on Saturday, July 6, 2024.  Judy was born on April 4th, 1948 to Leslie and Ruth Kerr in Carmi, Illinois.

Judy traveled all over the United States with her family and they arrived in Cuba, New Mexico when she was16 years old.  She fell in love with the mountains and told her family she was home! Judy worked at the Cuba school for several years and obtained a degree in medical transcription. She also worked at the Cuba Clinic as a medical record transcriptionist.  She was a very important part of the Cuba community.  She enjoyed and loved being around her family and friends. She loved to tend to her plants and watch the grass grow and especially loved Chole, her beloved dog and trusted companion who also was her favorite entertainment.  Judy will be missed by the many people who loved and cherished her.

Judy is survived by her daughter, Tina Dorado; son, Adam Montoya II;  daughter, Denise Montoya; brother, Don and wife Dell Kerr; grandchildren, Ashlie, Amber, Joshua, Jacob, Kerinza, Adam III, Adrianna, Andrew, Brandi and Travis; her best friends, Adam and Pinkie Montoya; her beloved dog, "Chloe "; 20 great grandchildren; as well as numerous nephews, nieces, other family members and friends who loved and will miss her greatly.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents, Leslie and Ruth; her sister Carolyn and by her brother, Beau and daughter, Daphne Montoya.

Services will be held on Saturday, July 13, 2024 at 12 o'clock, at the Cuba Baptist Church, followed by a procession to the Gabriel Montoya Family Cemetery. After burial services, a reception will be held at the Cuba Baptist Church where everyone is invited.
