Jose Andres Lopez, age 95, was born on February 12, 1931, in Litchfield Park, Arizona, to Jose Lopez and Manuelita Hernandez. The oldest of eight children, Jose was raised in the North Valley of Albuquerque, in the Alameda area.

A hardworking, determined, and successful man, Jose began his career in the coal mines in 1951 before working in construction and mechanics. In 1964, he opened his first gas station, F & S (Father and Sons), followed by Lopez Chevron in 1973. He later worked as a heavy-equipment mechanic until age 75 and continued working for the U.S. Forest Service until age 80. His remarkable work ethic never faded, as he continued recycling metals until the age of 93.

Jose was a devout Catholic all his life and he loved going to mass at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church.

Jose's greatest accomplishment was the beautiful family he built with the love of his life, Delia Rodrigues Lopez. The couple met at a wedding dance in Algodones, New Mexico, and married just six months later on July 21, 1950, in Peñasco, New Mexico. Jose often recalled, "The first time I laid eyes on her, I knew I was going to marry her." Together, they celebrated 76 extraordinary years of marriage, a true testament to faith, unconditional love, and lifelong devotion.

Jose was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, Nino and friend. He took tremendous pride in his family, especially his grandchildren's accomplishments, often reminding them, "That's one thing they can't take away from you—is your education."

He will forever be remembered for his strength, resilience, unwavering work ethic, quick wit, and unconditional love for God and his family. His familiar sayings, "Don't keep me worrying about you," "I'm real proud of you," and "I love you more," will remain treasured memories in the hearts of those who loved him.

Jose is survived by his beloved wife, Delia; his children, Henry (Christina), Kathy (Victor), James (Kathy), Patsey (Albert), Loretta (Randy), Rosie (Ronnie), Christine (Shannon), and beloved Eleanor; along with 13 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and numerous extended family members.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jose Lopez; mother, Manuelita Walker; sister, Anita; brother, Ignacio; and beloved granddaughter, Nicole Lopez.

Jose leaves behind a remarkable legacy of faith, love, strength, perseverance, and family devotion. His life was a blessing, his memory a treasure, and his love will live on for generations.

Until we meet again, we love you more.
