Jose (Joe) Saturnino Almeida, age 80, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 31, 2026, surrounded by family. He was born on November 9,1945 in Del Rio, Texas, to Juan and Emilia (Gonzales) Almeida. Joe was a master plasterer and worked hard all his life. Joe loved to fish and hunt when he was younger. He loved to be the cook at the hunting camp site. Joe and Theresa Baca were married for 33 years. He had three children, John, Vanessa, and Sasha, and two stepchildren, Hilario and Germaine.

Joe was loved by many, including his grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He loved his dogs, Huero and Tubby. He never wanted to travel because he had to take care of his boys. Joe was the unsung hero of our family for the last year, he took such good care of his wife, Theresa, during a lengthy illness. We will always be thankful for that.

Joe was preceded in death by his mother and father, Juan and Emilia Almeida; sisters Lupita Cervantes Estrella, Maria Olga Almeida and Alicia Almeida; brother Robert Almeida; and granddaughter Desieree Baca. Joe is survived by his wife Theresa Baca, sisters Nena Aleticia Martinez, Cecilia Barrera and Jaine Almeida, his son John Almeida and his daughter Jazlyn Almeida, his daughter Vanessa Almeida Solis, husband Mario Alejandro Solis, grandson Mario Antonio Solis, grandson Aaron Nathaniel Solis, his daughter Sasha Almeida, grandson Isaac Taft, grandson Owen Taft, granddaughter Alyssa Taft, great grandson Koa Taft, stepson Hilario Baca, great grandkids Celleste and Arthur Trujillo, his granddaughter Hilary White, husband Todd White, great granddaughter Hollie Baca-Kremer, great granddaughter Lexi Baca-Ball, great grandson Ricardo Ball, stepdaughter Germaine Laughlin, husband Alan Laughlin, grandson Arturo Almager, wife Lisa Pennington, great grandson Angelo Cruz, great granddaughter Natalya Almager, granddaughter Danielle Almager, husband Derrick Baca, great granddaughter Mya Baca, granddaughter Amanda Trujillo, husband Jess Trujillo, great granddaughter Eden Trujillo, great granddaughter Lilith Trujillo, great grandson Thomas Alan Trujillo, granddaughter Abby Barnhill, husband Tavish Barnhill, great grandsons TJ and Cade Barnhill, nephews Rito and Chris Ybarra, his beloved dogs Huero and Tubby, and many other family members.

Funeral mass will be held on Thursday, September 17, 2026, at St. Therese of the Infant Jesus Catholic Church at 9:00 am, 3424 4th St. NW, Albuquerque, New Mexico 87107.
