Jorge Lee Widdison, who became Jorge Lee Jones after marrying Kent Hoover Jones, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 1st, 2026, at the age of 93. She was born on June 13, 1932, in Fort Washakie, Wyoming, to Arthur John Widdison and Andrear Jorgensen, and later made her home in Albuquerque, New Mexico, where she lived for many years.

She was married for 73 years to her beloved husband, Kent Hoover Jones, who preceded her in death in 2025. She is survived by her children, Diane Gonzales (Anthony), Marilyn Foust (Dan), Julie Painter (Jerry), Ilene Oliver (Michael), Linda Grossman (Lew), Jeff Jones (Maureen), Gordon Jones, Christy Burton (JR), and Valerie Jones; and by her brother, Jerry Widdison. She was preceded in death by her son, Paul Jones. In addition to her 10 children, Jorge had 16 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren, and she became a great-great-grandmother in 2025.

Jorge was a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served faithfully as a church organist for nearly eight decades. Her music was a gift to her ward and to all who heard it, and her faith remained a guiding light throughout her life. She served in other capacities at church, teaching children and ministering to her fellow ward members and spent many years working in the Albuquerque temple. Jorge also had a career as an administrative assistant at Sandia National Laboratory and made many dear friends through her work. She was a lifelong learner and passed that love on to all of her children. Jorge was known for her quiet strength, kind heart, and deep love for her family.

One of her favorite hobbies was sewing and quilting, and over the years she created many treasured handmade items for her family and loved ones. Even in her eighties, she opened an Etsy shop to share her beautiful creations with others.

A graveside service will be held on May 12th, 2026. The family extends sincere thanks to the staff at Morada Quintessence for the loving care and support they provided. The family wishes to thank the Roadrunner Hospice team for their tender and faithful care as well.
